This is a great book to read to the class when the students, or the teacher, just need a laugh. It is full of different absurd fables with bizarre morals. The book opens up with a brief and comical description of fables, Aesop, and what you will find within this book. It is a non-stop laughing adventure from goofy fable to fable. It would be great to use in a classroom not only to cheer students up, but also to teach them about writing fables. The fables in the story may be goofy, and sometimes the morals are fairly random, but they still follow the guidelines of a fable. For grades 3-5 any book that will get your students to laugh is a good thing, and I highly recommend this book as part of a classroom library.
